Me and my peers have been working on a project based on German Notgeld. Notes were issued during and after WWI. When I heard the brief, I wasn’t delighted. Who wants to illustrate money? However, I was surprised at the beauty of the original Notgelds; with their unique typography, limited colour palette, and precise, detailed printing.
